Rural Women Support Project

This project aims at reducing the cost in time, money and risk of rural women as they process corn fufu which is the staple diet of our area. The activities included working with partners to acquire twenty small diesel operated hammer mills for processing maize grains into corn flour. Jobs were created by employing operators and the beneficiary women’s groups are using the revenue derived there from to subsidize their activities while saving some for sustainability.

We are expecting stronger women’s groups in twenty parishes with their group incomes improved. The burden of women is being lightened by the presence of these mills, employment has been created and the participation of these groups in the pastoral events and meetings at diocesan level is improving.
