The Social Welfare/Caritas Department of the Diocese of Kumbo since 2004 till date is working on Village Water Supply Program with the Diocese of Limburg in Germany and Misereor (the German National Episcopal Conference) as funders.

The villages in question identify the need, assess their ability to answer to the need and request for support from the Social Welfare/Caritas office of the Diocese of Kumbo. This is done either in form of letters or the request is made when the Bishop visits the villages. Rural water supply program (phase one):

The project is constructing potable water supply schemes to seven communities in the first phase. It is also training and supporting water management and caretaker committees to ensure sustainability. Water catchments protection is not left out.
